Phrase: No news is good news Meaning: Not to have any news about someone or something is better than to have bad news because it means that everything ought to be all right.
Example:
-My husband went out yesterday evening because we had a row, and has not returned yet. Maybe something bad has happened to him. I have phoned everywhere, and nobody knows anything.
-Well, I suppose that no news is good news. If anything bad had happened to him, you would have been informed. Subject: Information
